What is Cameron's angle?

Has anyone else noticed that coach Cameron has distanced himself from players that he potentially needs, at least in the short term? No contact with Ricky? Non commital with Daunte? What gives?
Fact is the Dolphins desperatley need the services of Ricky after the departure of Sammy Morris this offseason. There is not another back available that will fit in as a solid contributer and back up Brown. Ricky was a monster even with limited carries in Browns rookie season. He has had time away from the game and is completely healthy. Apparently he has been pot free for the past 3 years and seems to be in a good place mentally. So why not reach out to him? Why wait until the league rules on his iminent return?
There is not a better option for the Phish at QB at this point in time. Why not give some support to Daunte and say this guy is an amazing talent when healthy? Why not say this organization made a commitment to Daunte and back him up a little in his rehab?
Cameron just is not coming across as a very personable coach. Yeah, it has been said he is all business, but there has to be a line. A coach has to stand by his guys and go to battle for them. In turn they will go to battle for him and create a cohesive team. Instead Cameron distances himself. Not good.

I Could not agree with you more. I still believe C-Pep is our best option. Even with a bad knee, He was able to take one in from about 10 yards out. He should have taken a stand about the lack of protection that was provided for him, but he didn't. He took it for the team. On the other hand, the fins want to get rid of him for an old man who's success was a side effect of Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes, and Larry Johnson's preformance. As far as Ricky is concerned, Cam is a jackass for playing the waiting game. Ricky has always been and continue to be a monster on the gridiron. The guy has more than proven his ability to overcome time of the field. Unless Cam is playing mind games and hiding his true intentions about the team and his approach towards players we desperatly need to support and encourage, we might be looking at a few more wasted years, and a few more years lost on the careers of our best guys. I hope I'm wrong about Cam, But I doubt it.

Concerning Ricky, who says it is Coach Cameron's responsibility to go track him down and coddle him?
Ricky is a grown man and if he is serious about playing for the Dolphins he could maybe pick up the phone and contact the Coach himself.
The lines of communication between Coach and Player are wide open.

Cameron wants people on his team that want to be there and want to compete. Showing initiative would show that.
I believe Ricky will be back and rock with Ronnie and then roll out somewhere else. Cameron has his eyes set on a RB somewhere in this draft. He's seen the viability of the two back system with LT and Michael Turner.
